Preparing for Interviews - the Unexpected from Left Field
Monday, July 28th, 2008
All of your material should be valid whether you are applying for a job of a small company where only one person will interview you or whether you are being led through a battery of succession of interviews at a giant corporation. At each stage in the series simply take it from the top, knowing that you are simply one step closer to your goals than you were before.
The first part of the process includes being and feeling as if you were “on the spot” . Totally and completely on the spot. Or acknowledging to yourself precisely where are internally as well as externally.
To be on the spot and to perform successfully , you need to have handled , over time and experiences , as many of the known variables as you possibly can. It is all part of the game in order that you can be alert and reasy for anything thrown from left field , as a matter of course , or as a test. Be ready and prepared for the unexpected when it comes to interviews, interview styles and tactics and your interviews in person as well.

UncategorizedJob Hunting in a Nutshell
Monday, July 28th, 2008
The moment I say my interviewer, I knew that my sources were correct - remarked one interview from the agency.
At the time my questions showed that I had a remarkable understanding , in depth and in sumary , of the firm’s present and future planned status. I certainly had shown that I had the criteria for the job I wanted. This more than made up for my lack of experience in the field. ….” I got the job notification the next day. Both the receptionist and the secretary had put in a good word for me.”
The most interesting thing was that I instinctively knew that through all my preparation I had that job in less than 30 seconds after I walked into that interviewer’s office.
This is a summary and testament of the importance of preparation and follow through in the job hunting field in a nutshell

Walk the Talk When it Comes to Resume Cover Letter Preparation
Monday, July 14th, 2008
What advice can be given on how to and not how to write a cover letter or resume. Are you a job applicant or a felon?
If you were to receive a “generic “cover letter and resume – as an employment screener how would you react to them? Most likely not very well. If you have been in the business 25 yeas or a week – you have seen them all. . Any employer can tell when they’ve been “spammed” by a resume and cover letter that’s going out to a hundred or even millions of employers. Do first class professional job of preparation and preparation. It’s well worth it. Imagine that you have all the time in the world to prepare – as if you had ten years in Stoney. Take the time to tailor a cover letter that looks like you’re serious about obtaining that employment.
It can be emphasized or overemphasized. Walk the talk. Do the homework. Do the research. Do it more than thoroughly. Your chances on obtaining that new job or carear depend on it.

Attitude and Responsibility Starts in Job Interviews on Day One
Friday, July 4th, 2008
It can be said that often in a business environment and in business plans as well as planning that there are routine structures and basics that must be adhered to. It used to be said that “businesses run on forms”. Not any more or at all it seems . it all comes down to profitability and market penetration in the end. It might be said that the company that you work takes all the responsibility for creating the right or “correct “ environment. Maybe in upper management meetings on the top floor - well at least in their minds. It all starts with accepting personal responsibility for your actions in the workplace.
That starts in actual job interviews from day one.

Your Business Attitude as Well as Mindset

Most Amway Distributors , do a lot of things correct. In research it has been extensively documented that there are often simple - yet overlooked keys to the kingdom.
It was not just that new new distributors who fumbled along the road of life but even experienced business people that will point out “you cannot tell me anything….. I have been in the ….. business for 10 … 20… 35 . x years”. Yet was it ten years worked or one year worked 10 , 20 or 50 times. Most of these “business authortities “ do not know , and will never comprehend .
The first rule and guideline to follow is to treat your business - like a real business - after all it is your business - your real business. “Is this anyway to run a business?”
Some will print business cards and then rest on ther laurels - as if the printed business card is a testament of their real success - financial or in their minds eye.
In the end - its all about attitude and the solidness of the foundation of their business attitudes and expertise. Your business may be online , it may be virtual , it may be a physical place - but in the end its all about attitude and the image of your business in your mind’s eye
